Voix et action des Femme
This month, we launched our new project, “Voix et Actions des Femmes,” focusing on the rights of women agricultural workers in the Béja governorate. On October 25, 2024, we held our project launch workshop which was attended by local authorities, associations, and agricultural development groups. We are delighted to share some snapshots and a video from the event:
PAVE
In addition to this, on October 25, 2024, the first field activity of the local actors’ network in Jendouba was organized as part of the CARAVART awareness campaign. This event, organized by Friguia for Strategies under the PAVE project, was a collaboration with the association coalition and the local actors’ network in Jendouba, alongside the National Commission for the Fight Against Terrorism, the Regional Delegations of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports, Women, Family, and Seniors, Religious Affairs, the Family and Population Office, and the Tunisian Women’s Union of Jendouba.
The convoy included the ART CAR mobile unit, two mobile youth centers, a neighborhood activation unit, the mobile youth tourism center, three mobile libraries, the women’s delegation, and a mobile children’s club. The convoy traveled from Jendouba to Ain el-Bia middle school in Fernana, carrying messages of hope and awareness.
The goal of this initiative is to enhance the prevention of violence in educational institutions and to promote the values of tolerance and solidarity. The initiative included various awareness activities such as art, culture, and media, led by cultural, youth, and family organizers, with the participation of religious affairs and the Family and Population Office. Workshops on handicrafts and visual arts allowed children to express their ideas and vision for peace in an artistic and creative manner.
Additionally, the activities included a storytelling workshop where students learned to tell small stories that reflect their reality, a workshop on creating journalistic content, and health and awareness services for the parents of middle school students. Events like these play a significant role in spreading awareness among young people, supporting a culture of peace within educational institutions, and preventing all forms of violence and risky behaviors that threaten our youth’s future.
On October 18 and 19, 2024, we held a “Train the Trainers” workshop aimed at preventing violent extremism for middle and high school teachers. This workshop was designed to equip educators with the tools and knowledge needed to recognize and counteract signs of violent extremism within the educational environment.
GCERF VISIT
We had the honor of welcoming our donor today for a special visit dedicated to the PAVE project and some community solutions we have developed as part of this initiative. This meeting was an opportunity to share our achievements and highlight the concrete impact of our actions on the ground.
A big thank you to everyone who is involved daily in this ambitious project, and an immense thank you to our donor for their valuable support. Together, let’s continue to build a sustainable future for our community!
